Radisson Blu Ctg goes green, brings eco-friendly glass water bottles
Radisson Blu Chattogram Bay View has replaced all plastic water bottles available at the hotel premise with reuseable glass bottles on January 18 as part of the group’s initiative to incorporate eco-friendly practices in its business model.

This marks the first initiative of a hotel in Bangladesh to go green. Earlier, the hotel also removed plastic straws and drink stirrers from its entire F&B operation in June 2018 and replaced them with locally made bamboo alternatives.

Speaking about the initiative, Robin Edwards, General Manager, Radisson Blu Chattogram Bay View, said, "As per Radisson Hotel Group’s global initiatives, we believe the countrywide travel and hospitality industry and their respective business partners together can be a great force for good. We all need to participate in significant collaborative initiatives to help build a better planet for our future generations, ensuring their sustainability.”

He further mentioned, “The Hospitality and Tourism sector in Bangladesh is growing at an enormous pace, and if all hotels can contribute to environmental change, it will be a great achievement for the industry, placing it at the forefront in the Asia Pacific region."

The Radisson Blu Chattogram Bay View promotes local efforts to make changes for the betterment of the community through initiatives such as the Annual Earth Hour, charity concerts, food, computer, soap, raincoats, blankets and stationary distribution among needy communities, supporting SOS Children’s Village and child education among other CSR activities.

The hotel won the Radisson Hotel Group 2017 Responsible Business Award, for being the best in Asia Pacific region to contribute to responsible business activities.
