PM leaves Baku for home
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left Baku for home on Sunday morning, wrapping up her four-day official visit to Azerbaijan.
A special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage took off from Baku Heydar Aliyev International Airport at 11:10am (local time).
Azerbaijan Minister for Education Jeyhun Aziz oglu Bayramov saw the Prime Minister off at the airport. Bangladesh Ambassador to Turkey M Allama Siddiki was present at that time.
The flight is scheduled to land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 7:45pm (BST) the same day.
On Thursday, Sheikh Hasina went to Azerbaijan to attend the 18th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).
The two-day summit of NAM, a forum of 120 developing countries, was held at Baku Congress Centre in the Azerbaijan capital of Baku on October 25-26.
On the sidelines of the NAM Summit, Sheikh Hasina also held separate meetings with a number of NAM leaders, including Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammad, Nepalese Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Algeria's acting President Abdelkader Bensalah.
During the visit, a bilateral meeting was held between the Bangladesh Prime Minister and Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev.
