Platinum Lounge at Sylhet wins International Curry Life Award
Platinum Lounge, a one-of-its-kind world class lounge and restaurant at Kumar Para, Sylhet won the prestigious Curry Life Award in the category of “International Hospitality Award 2019-20” at its 10th ceremonial event held at London Hilton on Park Lane hotel in the United Kingdom on November 10.
This is the first international award Platinum Lounge has received since its inception, seven months ago. Musleh Ahmed, Director of the lounge received the award from Lord Karan Faridoon Bilmoria, Baron Bilmoria of Chelsea, CBE, DL, FCA.
The Curry Life Awards, which has been annually organised and hosted for the past decade by UK culinary magazine “Curry Life”, reward and recognise individuals and establishments that represent the very best of British Curry Industry by demonstrating innovation and inspiration through their work.
Notably, the 10th instalment of this event was attended by Member of Parliament Rushanara Ali from the British Labour Party alongside various other dignitaries of British society.
Platinum Lounge was the only establishment based in Bangladesh to have received the award in this year’s event. Also present during the ceremony were Platinum Lounge Directors R I Choudhury Shahad, Nuruzzaman, Babul Akhtar, Shafique Uddin, Bashit Khan, Israk Ali, Sadaqur Rahman Choudhury, and Shahidul Islam.
