Planning Minister's mobile phone mugger identified
The mugger who had mugged the mobile phone of Setting up Minister MA Mannan from Bijoy Sarani signal has been determined by police.
ASM Mahtab Uddin, deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Law enforcement (Mirpur Division), said law enforcement have discovered a mugger who had snatched the look Minister's mobile phone. Though the brand and address of the mugger have already been received, the authorities are but to arrest him or recover these devices.
"We have determined the mugger who used to sleep under the 'Aeroplane Sculpture' at the Bijoy Sarani intersection. Procedure is goin to nab him," he explained.
On Sunday (May 30) evening, the look minister was returning home from any office by his official car. When his car reached the Bijoy Sarani signal, the minister was chatting on his cellphone downing the window cup. In those days, a mugger all of a sudden appeared and then vanished snatching the cellular phone--an iPhone X--from his hands.
Because the mugging of the minister's cellphone, police nabbed twelve of muggers from Bijoy Sarani, Tejgaon, Chandrima Udyan and Kafrul areas and questioned them. But, they could not present any clue to the authorities. They claimed that that they had no info within their network about the mugging of organizing minister's cellphone.
Police said there is no CCTV camera in the area of occurrence. Footage have been collected from the local CCTV cameras. However, police didn't find anything uncommon examining the footage.
A circumstance was filed with Kafrul Law enforcement Station regarding the incident of mugging of Setting up Minister's cellular phone. Sub-inspector GM Faridul Alam is normally investigating the case.
He said Kafrul law enforcement, detective branch and other laws enforcing agencies have been working constantly to recover the planning minister's mobile phone.
