Pick-up van kills 2 workers in Sirajganj
Two workers were crushed to death by a pick-up van on Bangabandhu Bridge West Link Highway in Soydabad area of Sirajganj.
The deceased were identified as Jahangir Hossain, 30, and Shamim, 32, residents of Jarila Porabari village under Sirajganj sadar upazila.
Four of their fellows sustained injuries.
Three of them were admitted to 250-bed Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib General Hospital.
All of the victims worked at a power plant in Sirajganj.
Bangabandhu Bridge West Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Jahurul Islam confirmed the accident to banglanews.
A North-Bengal bound hen-laden pick-up van ran over them while some 6-7 workers were waiting for vehicles in Soydabad area, to return home, around 7 in the morning.
Jahangir and Shamim died on the spot.
The bodies were sent to the sadar hospital morgue.
