Cop killed in road accident
A traffic constable was killed after being hit by an auto-rickshaw while he was performing his duty at Baroihat Pouro Bazar in Mirsharai upazila of Chattogram on Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Nurul Amin, 58, son of late Hasan Ali, a resident of Rampur village in Parshuram upazila of Feni.
Jorarganj Police Station SI Abid Ali said a CNG-run auto-rickshaw hit Nurul in the area around 7:45pm while he was performing duty, leaving him critically injured.
Later, he was taken to Mirsharai Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctors declared him dead around 9pm.
