2 killed in 'shootouts'
Two people were killed during a 'gunfight' between a criminal gang and Yaba traders in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar early Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Hasan Ali and Md Kamal.
With this, the number of deaths in anti-drugs crackdown stood at 242 across the country since May 12.
Teknaf Police Station OC Pradip Kumar Das said hearing the sound of fire, a petrol team of police conducted a drive at Katabunia Jhaobon area around 5:30am.
Sensing their presence, the gang members opened fire to police, leaving three policemen injured.
Police, later, found the bullet-hit body of two people.
Six arms, 20-30 bullets and huge ammount of Yaba pills were recovered from the scene.
