One killed as bus plunges into roadside ditch
A man was killed and 25 others were wounded when a bus turned turtle on the Dhaka-Bypass road and plunged into a roadside ditch at Narayanpur area of Gazipur on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Md Wasim Miah, 32, of Mymensingh.
Witnesses said the driver of a bus carrying 30-35 workers lost control over the steering and plunged into a roadside ditch around 7am, leaving one dead on the spot and 25 others injured.
The wounded were admitted to Tongi Government Hospital, Tongi Cathersis Medical Centre and Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Mirer Bazar police camp SI Shafiqul Alam said the body was sent to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital morgue.
