One held over DU student rape
Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have detained a suspected person in connection with rape of a Dhaka University student Student in Dhaka's Kurmitola area.
RAB senior assistant director ASP Mizanur Rahman (Leagl and Media Wing) confirmed the matter on Wednesday morning.
He said they nabbed the person during an overnight drive in Gazipur's Tongi.
On Tuesday, police collected two CCTV footage around Kurmitola roads to identify the culprit.
A second year student of the DU was allegedly raped and tortured in the area on Sunday night, just after she got down from the university bus.
Following the incident, the victim's father lodged a case with Cantonment Police Station.
