One held for attacking journo on polls day
Police have detained a man in connection with the attack on journalist Mostafizur Rahman Sumon on Dhaka City Corporation elections day.
Accused Ismail Hossain was picked up from a house on Buddhijibi Road in city's Rayerbazar area on Wednesday night.
He was shown arrested in a case filed by journalist Sumon, said Mohammadpur Police Station SI Altaf Hossain, also the investigation officer of the case.
Police will produce Ismail before the court seeking remand, the official added.
Law enforcers are trying to identify the attackers scrutinizing video footage and pictures of the incident and through the eye witness accounts of the incident.
Sumon, a crime reporter of an online news portal, was beat up and hacked on the election day on February 1.
