Mehreen's 'Bondhuta' pays tribute to Nazrul, Tagore
Popular singer Mehreen Mahmud has paid tribute to national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam and Nobel laureate poet Rabindranath Tagore by releasing an album. To explore the connection between two literary giants of Bengali literature. The album titled 'Bondhuta' contains ten songs - five by each poet.
The ten songs are Nazrul songs 'O bhai khati shonar cheye khati', 'Khelicho ei bishwa loye', 'Rumu jhum rumu jhumu', 'Deep nibhiyachhe jhorem' and 'Shajiyacho jogi' and Tagore songs 'O amar desher mati', 'Anandaloke mangalaloke', 'Shohosha dalpala tor', 'Bhalobeshe shokhi', and 'Klanti amare khoma koro probhu'.
The songs are available on Meheen's personal website mehreen.net. Music lovers can listen to the first thirty seconds of the songs for free. However, they will have to pay Taka 25 for listening to the full version of the songs. Musical arrangement of 'Bondhuta' has been done by Indian music director Durbadal Chatterjee.
