Man killed in Brahmanbaria post-election clash
A supporter of an independent candidate was beaten to death, in what the locals claimed to be post-upazila election violence at Kurighor village in Nabinagar upazila of Brahmanbaria on Monday night.

Locals said the deceased, Saidul Mia, 32, son of Abul Kalam of the village, was a supporter of independent candidate and winner Md Moniruzzaman, reports UNB. 

The supporters of the independent candidate brought out a procession after victory in the upazila election around 8pm when the supporters of ruling Awami League candidate Kazi Jahir Siddique Titu carried out an attack on them, leaving several injured.

Later the injured were taken to Sadar Hospital where the doctors declared Saidul dead, they added.

On information, police were sent to avoid further flare-ups, said Inspector Raju Ahmed of Nabinagar Police Station.
