Lovers 'commit suicide' in Satkhira
A teenaged girl and her boyfriend reportedly committed suicide in Satkhira sadar upazila Friday (August 10) night.
Family members of Shilpi Mondal, 13, a resident of Mohadebnagar village of the upazila, rebuked her around 8 at the night, over her affair with neighboring Sujay Sarker, 18. Moreover, she was informed about to be set for tying the knot elsewhere.
Feeling broken, Shilpi hanged herself around 8:45pm.
Being informed about the girlfriend’s death, Sujay also quitted himself by hanging from a tree besides his residence, at the same night.
Satkhira Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mostafizur Rahman confirmed the deaths to Banglanews.
