Left parties gherao VC office for 6-point demand
Left leaning student bodies on Monday gheraoed the vice chancellor’s office on Dhaka University campus to press home for their six-point demand ahead of Dhaka University Students' Central Union (DUCSU) polls slated for March 11.
Leaders and activists of the left parties including Bam Morcha and Progressive Students' Alliance brought out a procession from Madhu's Canteen in the morning and laid a siege to the VC office.
BNP's student wing Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) extended its support to the programme.
The organizations placed their six-point demand including keeping congenial political atmosphere on the campus, setting polling booths outside the dormitories, stopping ‘guest room’ culture.
