JU students restart movement against VC
Students and teachers of Jahangirnagar University (JU) restarted their movement on Wednesday demanding resignation of Vice Chancellor Prof Farzana Islam.

They brought out a protest procession from Murad Chattar of the university around 10:00am that paraded all female dormitories and then gathered at the Chattar.  

One of the organizers of the movement Musfiq-us-Salehin said their movement will continue until the VC's resignation and they will not allow the decision of shutting down the university.

Earlier on Tuesday, the authorities closed Jahangirnagar University (JU) for an indefinite period in the wake of a BCL attack on the  protesters that left at least 35 teachers and students injured.

The students has besieged Prof Farzana Islam's house since Monday evening demanding her removal over graft allegation that escalated tension on the campus.

JU teachers and students have been demonstrating for last three months for the removal of Prof Farzana Islam over an allegation against her regarding bribing to leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League.
 
According to the allegation, the university administration has given Tk 1.6 crore to the JU unit BCL for the ongoing development project of JU.
