35 injured as BCL attacks JU students
Agitating students of Jahangirnagar University came under attack by Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) in front of Vice Chancellor Prof Farzana Islam's residence on Tuesday, leaving at least 35 teachers and students injured.

The attack was launched on the protesters at about 11 am.

The injured are undergoing treatment at JU medical centre.

Four of the injured teachers are identified as Prof Sayeed Ferdous, Prof Mirza Taslima, Prof Abdur Razzaque and associate professor Khandaker Hasan Mahmud. 

The agitating students are seen chanting slogans in front of the VC's residence till filing of this report at 1:25pm.

The students besieged Prof Farzana Islam's residence since Monday evening demanding her removal over graft allegation that escalated tension on the campus.

Later, a group of JU teachers also joined the protesting students.
