Popular Bangladeshi actress Jaya Ahsan won the National Film Award for 2018 in best actress category for the film 'Debi'. This is the fourth National Film Award bagged by Jaya, who has previously received national awards for her acting in films 'Guerrilla' (2011), 'Chorabali' (2012) and 'Zero Degree' (2015).

When asked how she feels about winning yet another National Film Award, Jaya said, 'Winning an award is always a matter of great joy for an artiste. I tried to deliver my best acting performance in 'Debi'. I thank viewers for supporting me.'
Jaya has conquered the hearts of film lovers in West Bengal, India as well. Jaya-starrer Indian Bengali film 'Konttho', which received huge response in Kolkata, India, was released in 22 cinemas in Bangladesh on Friday. The film has received a huge response in the country.

"'Konttho' is an inspirational film that revolves around the story of a cancer patient. I have been overwhelmed by the response that the film has received in Bangladesh. People from all walks of life have been flocking cinemas to watch it," said Jaya who also spoke on the country's film scene.
