Jaya Ahsan to star in Indian horror film 'Bhoot Pori'
Popular actor Jaya Ahsan will be playing the role of a ghost in an Indian horror film, titled 'Bhoot Pori'. She had shared the official poster of the film on her verified Facebook page on Friday.
Jaya is currently in Kolkata for working in this film. She said various reporters: "I have previously worked in 'Debi', a film of the horror genre. However, in West Bengal this the first film of its kind.
The film can be described as a biography of a ghost. It has some thrillers as well. I will once again act alongside Ritwick Chakraborty. Many other popular actors will also star in the film.
According to the poster, the film is being produced under the banner of Surinder Films Pvt Ltd, and directed by Soukarya Ghosal. And the director had previously directed 'Rainbow Jelly'.
That is one of my favorite films. The shooting for the 'Bhoot Pori' began at Bolpur on August 26. I mostly have outdoor scenes. I am getting quite an interesting costume.
Soukarya's wife Pooja Chatterjee is doing the costumes for the film. Overall, once again I am getting an extraordinary team," Jaya added.
As for the plot of the film Jaya informed that it is a biography of a ghost. A certain woman passes away in 1947. A child of 2019 meets the restless soul of the departed woman, who seeks his help to unravel the mystery behind her death. Eventually the woman's ghost realizes that her death was not natural but a murder.
Therefore Jaya said: "The film does not just remain limited to horror and ghost. While unraveling the truth behind the woman's murder the film touches upon the crime-thriller genre as well."
Jaya herself will portray the dead woman and her ghost, and the child will be portrayed by Bishantak Mukherjee. The film will also star Ritwick Chakraborty, Sudiptaa Chakraborty, and Shantilal Mukherjee.
Jaya had received a lot of praise in West Bengal for her last film 'Konttho', and her film with Ritwick, 'Bini Shutoy' directed by Atanu Ghosh, awaits release.
