Irregularity in relief distribution will not be tolerated, warns PM
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has warned that irregularity in distributing relief materials among the indegent through the crisis that designed for the deadly novel coronavirus.
"Equal distribution of assitance will be ensured, to ensure that nobody is deprived and nobody get repeatedly. Irregularity and corruption in relief distribution will not be tolerated," said the PM while talking to officials of 64 districts in a video conference from her official residence Ganobhaban on Tuesday.
Instructing the neighborhood administration to reach foods to the poor persons and increase their awareness, the Premier asked them to create lists for fair disribution.
She also laid importance on maintaining law and order.
"The shutdown causes difficulties to the lower income group persons who earn daily because of their livelihood. It really is our social responsibilities to save lots of them. Law enforcing agencies, administration and public representatives should stand beside them," the PM said.
Reiterating stern action against corruption, she said if any allegation is received against anyone or found involved with corruption through the tough time, the individual wouldn't normally be spared.
