Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina pays homage to Bangabandhu
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday paid rich tributes to Daddy of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the celebration of the historic March 7.

The premier paid the homage by inserting a wreath at the portrait of the Father of the Nation before Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi in the town this morning.

After laying the wreath, she stood in solemn silence for sometime as a mark of profound respect to the memory of Bangabandhu, the architect of the independence.

Flanked simply by central leaders of the get together, Sheikh Hasina, also the president of Bangladesh Awami Group (AL), put another wreath by the portrait of the Father of the Nation with respect to her party.

In the future, the leaders and personnel of Awami League’s associate bodies, including Awami Jubo League, Chhatra Group, Mahila Awami League, Sramik League, Krishak Group, Jubo Mohila Group and Swechchhasebok League, also paid homage to Bangabandhu by putting wreaths at his portrait in the occasion.

Upon this day in 1971, Bangabandhu through his fiery and soulful address built a clarion phone to the persons to fight against the Pakistani occupation forces to achieve the long-cherished independence.

Before a rally of a million of freedom-loving persons at the in that case Race Course Maidan (nowadays Suhrawardhy Udyan) on March 7 in 1971, Bangabandhu in a virtual announcement of independence declared, “Ebarer sangram amader muktir sangram, ebarer sangram swadhinatar sangram (the struggle this time around is for our freedom, the struggle this time around is for our independence)”.
