He did not stop just by achieving the pinnacle of businesses in Bangladesh through unparalleled dedication, hard-do the job and extraordinary ethics that brought him adulation in the home and abroad.

Rather, Latifur Rahman continued to mentor and inspire a good generation of entrepreneurs with his extraordinary organization acumen, upstanding conduct and -- grace. 

Chairman and chief executive of Transcom Group, among the largest conglomerates found in Bangladesh, Rahman died yesterday at age 75, leaving a good legion of businesspeople with major hearts.  

"We shed an iconic figure inside our business world," explained Tapan Chowdhury, managing director of Square Pharmaceuticals.

Rahman had almost been a member of family to Chowdhury and a pal of his father, Samson H Chowdhury, probably the most successful entrepreneurs found in Bangladesh.

"I have a whole lot of good thoughts as I also worked with him in different capacities, both as a good businessman and as a good former president of the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI)."

Both Rahman and Chowdhury are former presidents of the MCCI. But what really identified him was his rectitude.

"He was a man of principles -- he by no means compromised with the concepts. And he was incredibly transparent in his businesses," Chowdhury added.

Like him, various business chambers, trade bodies and individual business personalities have mourned the abrupt demise of Rahman as he is recalled for his remarkable personality, for touching the hearts of a large number of powerful businessmen and for his very good deeds.

After the independence of the united states in 1971, very few businesses could thrive following ethics. But Rahman could create his organization empire Transcom Group -- which contains media, tea, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, electronics, among others -- just just how he wished to: moored in morality.

He was a good pundit in international trade and spoke for easing organization terms, the business community said.

"I am not emotionally fit in to state anything about Latifur Rahman. I'll talk later," explained Mahbubur Rahman, president of the International Chamber of Commerce Bangladesh (ICCB), when the correspondent known as him for some words and phrases on his long-term good friend.

Latifur Rahman was first the vice-president of the ICCB until his loss of life.

"I am totally shocked hearing the news of the loss of life of Latifur Rahman," said Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi, also an effective businessman. 

He was an extremely successful business persona and entrepreneur.

"We lost an excellent business entrepreneur. We are in need of such an business owner this time. Latifur Rahman was a friend. Both folks solved many business concerns together," Munshi added.

"With the increased loss of Latifur Rahman, we've not only lost among the foremost organization icons of Bangladesh, but the MCCI, Dhaka has lost among its longest-serving and distinguished previous presidents. Personally, i have dropped an uncle and a mentor," stated Nihad Kabir, president of the MCCI.

As the president of the MCCI, Rahman served seven years in three tenures.

In that function, he was unfailing in trying to develop and entrench ethical organization practices, mentor young people, and forever was an ambassador of all that was very good in Bangladesh's business.

"His enterprises brought global recognition for excellence running a business in this country. His public service was exemplary, in lots of ways never publicised as had been his business successes," Kabir added.

"We happen to be deeply mourned," said Sheikh Fazle Fahim, president of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Market, in a condolence affirmation.

More than 10,000 personnel are working on Rahman's 16 companies in the areas of junk food, beverage, media, electric and electric, tea industry and insurance sector. Rahman was a director of the FBCCI in 1984 and 1996.

Syed Nasim Manzur, taking care of director of Apex Sneakers and a former MCCI president, stated: "The demise of Latifur Rahman has got deprived all of us of not only among our many admired and respected captains of industry but also our near future generations of an excellent role model."

"Whether it had been at the MCCI or perhaps it had been in his very own Transcom group that he included in one of the most admired and successful organization groups found in Bangladesh, Shamim uncle hardly ever wavered from his key values of integrity and humility. I usually used to attempt to be the first ever to greet him whenever we met but never succeeded."

"His humility, durability of identity and dignity built him almost bigger than life to many of us. But when I got the chance to speak to him individually, he took such fascination in every that I was performing. It had been as if he previously all the time on the globe simply for me."

This is his magical capability to bind together hundreds or thousands of lives but never get rid of sight of the average person.

"The other element I shall remember about him was his tremendous focus on detail," Manzur said.

Manzur's launch to the MCCI was likewise through Rahman. "I'd see how little or nothing missed his sharp attention yet he would never reprimand or embarrass," he added.

"We lost a superstar from our individual sector. He was a pioneer in lots of ways," explained Rupali Chowdhury, president of the Foreign Shareholders' Chamber of Commerce and Sector.

She had the chance to work with him as a board member of the ICCB. "I came across him as my mentor in my own capability in the ICCB," Chowdhury said.

"Latifur Rahman will continue to be a friend and a mentor to many of us for a long time beyond his loss of life," stated Rubana Huq, president of the Bangladesh Garment Producers and Exporters Association.

"His contribution to the society, his effect on the business enterprise community, his existence, his ideals and his struggles will continue to teach a lot of us that people must all live and business lead by example as he previously and that we shouldn't compromise our goals for mediocrity."

He was a distinctive and outstanding individual and his death will not mark his end.

"Rather, it leaves us a fresh lesson to check out his footsteps and reside in grace and faith," the BGMEA chief said.

Rahman was such a personality who made a superb contribution towards the advancement of business, sector and investment and creation of jobs in the personal sector with full of his effort, dedication and integrity throughout his life time, said Shams Mahmud, president of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Sector.

"His unexpected demise isn't only a shock to his friends and family but also a great loss to the country," he added.

Rahman is a symbol of successful entrepreneurship in the domain of commerce and industry contributing immensely to the country's creation, said Syed Ershad Ahmed, president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh.

"Firm self-perseverance, hard practice and farsightedness brought for him the acknowledgement found in Bangladesh and beyond."

The AmCham Bangladesh awarded him in 2001 as the "AmCham Organization Executive of the entire year".

"We deeply mourn the sad demise of prominent and well known businessman Latifur Rahman," explained John Paul D' Costa, administrative officer of the International Business Forum of Bangladesh.

Rahman was instrumental in the development of organization, trade and market of the country.

His dedication and commitment to the production of the private sector were truly inspirational and unparallel, the Business Initiative Leading Development said.

Rahman was a existence member and the pioneer person in the Dutch-Bangla Chamber of Commerce and Market (DBCCI). He was as well a member of the governing human body of Brac and a past president of the Bangladesh Employers' Federation.

"Our collective hearts happen to be major with sympathy. We pray for his departed soul," explained Md Anwar Shawkat Afser, president of the DBCCI.

Rahman was an effective businessman and got victory in every sector of his organization, said Ahsan Khan Chowdhury, chairman and CEO of Pran-RFL Group.

"He is as well the best case in point who got success practising the business basic principle and ethics. He had not been only an effective businessman but also a good business innovator. He played a respected function to develop the business enterprise," Chowdhury added.

Rahman's standing extended beyond the borders of Bangladesh. He was the initial Bangladeshi to get the Oslo Organization for Peace Award 2012 for ethical business and social responsibility.

Latifur Rahman set a fantastic example at home and abroad by going businesses maintaining honesty and ethics, said the Citizen's Program for SDGs, Bangladesh.

"He produced an unparalleled contribution towards creating careers through development of businesses and expenditure," explained Debapriya Bhattacharya, convener of the platform. 

At the same time, he threw his weight behind civil society activities and played a job during many social motions.

"He'd be remembered forever for his position in guaranteeing freedom of the press and freedom of speech."
