Latifur Rahman laid to eternal rest in Banani Graveyard
Transcom Group chairman Latifur Rahman was first laid to eternal rest in Banani Graveyard on Wednesday night time up coming to his younger girl.
His body was brought to the administrative centre from his village residence Cumilla's Chouddagram upazila and a namaz-e-janaza was held at Azad Masjid in Gulshan after Esha prayers.
After janaza, he was buried in presence of the family.
Zaraif Ayaat Hossain, grandson of Latifur Rahman, urged all to pray for the salvation of the departed soul.
Mentioning his brother Faraaz Ayaaz Hossain passed away exactly four years back in terror attack in the Holey Artisan Bakery in Gulshan, Zaraif stated, "Our grandfather has left us on the same day."
The publisher of leading dailies Daily Superstar and Prothom Alo, died in his sleep at his village house in Chouddagram upazila around 11:30am on Wednesday.
Latifur Rahman is survived by his wife, 1 boy, two daughters and a host of admirers.
He had been experiencing various illness going back two years and he used to live at his village residence most of the time.
His another child Shazneen Rahman was killed in 1998 at her home in Gulshan in the administrative centre.
Latifur Rahman was the Vice-President of Paris-based International Chamber of Commerce-Bangladesh and person in the Executive Panel of the ICC.
He previously been honoured with the "SAARC Outstanding Head" award and Lifetime Accomplishment Award that was presented by the UK Bangladesh Catalysts of Commerce and Sector.
