'Hasina: A Daughter's Tale' set for release
'Hasina: A Daughter's Tale,' a docudrama based on Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's life, is set for theatrical release on November 16, according to the film's official Facebook page. The page also released the first poster of the film which features a black and white photo of Sheikh Hasina during a public speech. The film's director, Rezaur Rahman Khan Piplu, who also confirmed the news.
"The film will initially be released at three theatres: Dhaka's Star Cineplex and Blockbuster Cinemas, and Chittagong's Silver Screen. Later on, we will move to nationwide and overseas theatrical release and we are currently working on that."
The trailer of the film was released on all social media platforms on September 28, on Sheikh Hasina's 71st birthday, and instantly became viral among the country's netizens. The docudrama is an extensive, five-year-long collaboration between the Centre for Research and Information (CRI) and Applebox Films founder Piplu.
The 70-minute docudrama has been produced by Radwan Mujib Siddiq and Nasrul Hamid on behalf of the CRI, with Sadik Ahmed as the cinematographer, Navnita Sen as the editor, and Debojyoti Mishra as the music director.
