Gandhi Peace Prize for Time 2020 being conferred on Bangabandhu
The Gandhi Peace Prize for the year 2020 has been conferred on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Gandhi Peace Prize can be an gross annual award instituted by Federal government of India since 1995, the 125th Birth Anniversary commemoration year of Mahatma Gandhi.

The award is open to all persons irrespective of nationality, race, words, caste, creed or gender.

The award carries some Rs. 1 crore, a citation, a plaque and a perfect classic handicraft/ handloom item.

“Bangabandhu was a good champion of human rights and flexibility, and is a hero to Indians aswell. The legacy and inspiration of Bangabandhu has made the heritage of both countries extra comprehensive and deep-rooted, and the path shown by Bangabandhu features laid a strong base for the partnership, improvement and prosperity of both countries during the last decade,” said PM Modi.

The Jury for Gandhi Peace Prize is chaired by Primary Minister Narendra Modi, and consists of two ex-officio members, namely the Chief Justice of India and Head of the single major Opposition Get together in Lok Sabha. Two eminent customers are also the main Jury, namely Om Birla, Loudspeaker of the Lok Sabha, and Bindeshwar Pathak, Founder of Sulabh International Community Service Organization.
