'We've proof that Zia was involved in Bangabandhu's killing'
Liberation Battle Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huque has said former president Ziaur Rahman was involved in Bangabandhu's killing.
Talking to journalists by his secretariat business office in the administrative centre on Sunday, he explained, "We explained that Ziaur Rahman was involved with Bangabandhu's eliminating. We proposed to strip his gallantry title as he was a killer."
AKM Mozammel Huque said Ziaur Rahman's get together BNP has claimed that he (Ziaur Rahman) had not been mixed up in killing. "In response, we said that we would place documentary evidence and relevant details about his (Ziaur Rahman) involvement [in Bangabandhu's killing]."
The minister said, "We've enough evidence that former president Ziaur Rahman was mixed up in killing of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman."
Regarding the stripping of Ziaur Rahman's 'Bir Uttam' gallantry title, AKM Mozammel Huque stated, "We've proposed to strip of his title since we are able to propose only."
It might be mentioned that Jatiya Muktijoddha Council, at a gathering on February 9 last, proposed stripping off former President Ziaur Rahman's 'Bir Uttam' subject. Besides, the appointment proposed to repeal the titles of four convicted killers involved with Bangabandhu's murder.
