ECNEC okays Tk 4,347cr Bangabandhu Shilpa Nagar Dev Project
The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) approved a Tk 4,347.21 crore task to build up the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar (BSMSN) as circumstances of the art and intercontinental standard greener monetary zone of the united states.

The approval came from the 21st assembly of the ECNEC in the current fiscal year (FY21) held with its Chairperson and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair on Wednesday. 

The Premier chaired the meeting nearly from her official Ganobhaban residence.

Ministers, condition ministers and others concerned attended the getting together with from the NEC Meeting Room found in the city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar location.

Briefing reporters after the meeting, Setting up Minister MA Mannan stated that the ECNEC permitted a complete of eight projects today with an overall estimated expense of Tk 11,324.33 crore.

“Of the total job cost, Tk 5,140.39 crore will come from the federal government of Bangladesh, Tk 18.12 crore form the concerned organization’s own fund as the rest Tk 6,165.82 crore as loan from overseas sources,” he added.

Of the approved eight assignments, six are new while two others are revised jobs.

The look minister said Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) beneath the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) will implement the project titled “Development of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar” with a standard estimated cost of Tk 4,347.21 crore.

“Of the total task cost, Tk 3,967.47 crore should come from the Community Bank as job loan while the rest Tk 379.74 crore from the government of Bangladesh,” he said.

BEZA will put into action this project by December 2025, so that you can create a great enabling environment for sustainable personal investment and a good dynamic local industry for industrial land.

Mannan said this huge job is being implemented at Mirersarai where foreign businesses from countries want China, Japan and South Korea have already shown their interest to invest.

Besides, it also aims to turn this BSMSN as a green financial zone in addition to creating new employment opportunities through attracting necessary expenditure. The job will be implemented by December 2025 at Mirersarai in Chattogram.

The project also aims to attract native and foreign investment, ensuring speedy industrialization together with product diversification, boosting export earnings and therefore creating scopes for earning valuable forex.

Under the job, BEZA will construct a 30-kilometre road inside the BSMSN alongside other necessary infrastructures for instance a central effluent treatment plant, desalination plant, solar technology systems, solid waste control, biogas plant, waste sorting facility, rooftop and floating solar.
