Fareast Islami co-op society chairman held
Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today claimed to have arrested the chairman and owner of Fareast Islami Multi Cooperative Society Limited, Shamim Kabir, for allegedly embezzling Tk 300 crore.
Shamim, who has 28 cases filed against him, was a fugitive for the last four years, said Sharmin Jahan, CID's additional superintendent.
A press briefing will be held regarding the arrest later in the day.
