Ex-president Zillur Rahman's 8th death anniversary today
The eighth death anniversary of former President Zillur Rahman, a veteran politician, a Language Activity hero, an organiser of the Liberation War and among the close associates of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, will be observed on Saturday

Zillur Rahman died of old-age problems at a Singapore hospital along March 20 in 2013.

He started his political job as a good volunteer of Awami Little league and was inducted due to the 19th president of the united states on February 12, 2009. He discharged his tasks as general secretary of Awami League for 12 years for five different terms.

Born in 1929 at a good renowned Muslim Category of Bhairab upazila found in Kishoreganj, Zillur was elected from Bhairab- Kuliarchar seat for six different clubs. Before becoming the President in 2009 2009, he was the neighborhood Government, Rural Creation and Cooperatives Minister and the Deputy Head in Parliament.

Awami Group, its associate bodies, other like-minded organisations and socio-cultural and specialist bodies have chalked out various programmes to shell out homage to the later leader.

The programmes include positioning wreaths at his grave, milad mahfil, Qurankhwani, doa-munajat and discussions.

AL will place wreaths at his grave found in Banani graveyard in the administrative centre. Besides, memorial meetings and milad mahfils will come to be held at diverse places.
