Eventually, it'll be the producers' call where and how they intend to exhibit Chehre
Emraan Hashmi, whose film Mumbai Saga, directed by Sanjay Gupta and co-starring John Abraham, had released in March, was pumped up about the release of his next, Chehre. The Rumy Jaffery-directorial with Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan, was advanced to early April for release. However, the pandemic's second wave and the surge in the amount of cases forced the film's makers to push the release ahead.

Talking about it Emraan says, "Today, everyone is coping with the pandemic within their own ways. We don't have answers to numerous questions inside our minds. Everyone is going through things. Our business is not singled out and is not the only person facing crisis. Just when we thought we were out from the woods, it hit back even harder. We have no option but to hold back it out.

Eventually, it'll be the producers' call where and how they intend to exhibit Chehre. We're all hoping and wishing for normalcy to come back, which seems a little distant right now. Even though theatres eventually open, it will take some time for the audience to start rolling back to them. In that time, the producers will decide whether they want to hold back for an opportune theatrical window or release Chehre on digital directly."

As an artiste, being put back in the lock and key must not be an excellent feeling. Elaborating onto it, Emraan says, "I don't want to sound like this is happening to your industry or me alone. Even in these times, I don't want to complain. I simply find myself in a fortunate place that friends and family are secure. Health is the priority right now for everybody. They are difficult, unprecedented times.

As an artiste, you do not really know what tomorrow holds for you personally. We are used to being on a set, shooting and honing our craft. It turns me on to be on a set and to have the ability to play different characters. Being kept away from it for a long time could make you insecure and frustrated that you can't get back to everything you love the most. But what can you do? Waiting may be the only thing. We must observe how this resolves itself and how we see the end of the. We're all grappling with things.

Theatrical revenues and films took a hit. This is one business which works when persons sit down in a dark room and consume content. That idea is at the receiving end of the pandemic, since that dark room is not a ventilated space and persons are fearful to be in such places. That is what we are coping with today, and that's what we have to tackle."
