eGeneration inks deal with Indian company for tech transfer
EGENERATION Ltd, one of the leading technology and tech investment companies in Bangladesh, has struck a memorandum of understanding with Highbar Technocrat Ltd, a spin-off of HCC Group in India, to enable knowledge and technology transfer between the two countries.

The initial deal was signed on Friday after the launching of India-Bangladesh Business Forum (IBBF) in presence of Tipu Munshi, commerce minister of Bangladesh, and Sheikh F Fahim, president of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce & Industries, at the ITC Maurya hotel in New Delhi.

Shameem Ahsan, chairman of eGeneration Group, and Mangesh Wadaje, CEO of Highbar Technocrat, inked the MoU, according to a press release from the Bangladeshi firm.

Under the agreement, eGeneration and Highbar will initially also invest in research and development of skills required for the fourth industrial revolution (4IR) technologies.

Part of this collaboration also involves branding both countries as leading technology and innovation destinations.

In the statement, Wadaje said, “By signing this MoU, Highbar Technocrat would like to further accelerate the development of innovative technologies in India and Bangladesh together and strengthen our shared goals.”

“With this collaboration, both countries will get access to research support to pursue their development objectives.”

Ahsan said the fourth industrial revolution was already happening in Bangladesh with many promising tech companies working on equipping different sectors with process innovation and latest technologies.

“Fully realising the potential of the fourth industrial revolution requires a more inventive, inclusive approach to skills and infrastructure development.”

“Pursuing that strategy on a global scale with Highbar and eGeneration will enable us to largely contribute in realising Digital India and Digital Bangladesh vision and establish successful fourth industrial revolution trajectories.”
