Shourav's film 'The Revelation' wins award in India
'The Revelation', a film by Bangladeshi director Faridul Ahasan Shourav, had been chosen for the official selection of the 'International Films' section of this year's "6th Pink City International Short-film Festival".
The selected films of this festival had been screened at Jaipur in India from 1st September to 15th September. Moreover, the films were publicly screened at many educational institutions along with the festival venue.
Then on 25th September, total 16 films were declared as winners in different categories of 'International Films' section at the prize giving ceremony of the festival. There the film 'The Revelation' which is created by the Bangladeshi director has won the "Youth Choice" award.
The short-film 'The Revelation' has already been screened in 14 film festivals of 7 different countries. Some of those significant film festivals are: China Short-Film Festival, Cefalu Film Festival in Italy, NPS International Children Film Festival is Assam of India, Cardiff International Film Festival, Africa International Children's Festival in Nigeria, Global Youth Film Festival, 11th International Children's Film Festival in Bangladesh and so on.
This has been a 10 minutes long short-film where the psychological analysis and view on art of a young artist have been portrayed. Shooting of The Revelation took place in different locations across the capital such as Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Fayez art studio of Uttara and at Moderna Museet Mane Museum of Stockholm, Sweden.
The director of the film has shared his opinion on the film, "This film is based on a short story written by Satyajit Ray. It starts with the desire of a young artist who wants to paint a masterpiece for exhibition. Here, we can see the artist to be sunk in the dreams of being praised by everyone for that masterpiece.
But the greed of name and fame makes the artist to send the masterpiece to the organizers at the verge of the deadline. However, the artist discovers a few days later with amazement that she has sent a wrong-white paper which is used to clean the colors of the brush.
But, who did even know that it was not the end of amusement!" Safwat Tasnia Priyanka has played the protagonist role of the film. Foley sounds and music direction were recorded by Kalpopriya Chowdhury, Marium Mah-zabin and Fairuja Krishty. Production of the film, art direction, colour correction and editing were done by the director Shourav himself.
