EC orders Deputy Speaker to leave polling area
Election Commission (EC) ordered National Parliament’s Deputy Speaker Fazle Rabbi Miah to leave Gaibandha-5 polling areas over violating the rules of upazila parishad polls.
The deputy speaker and Cox’s Bazar-3 MP Saimum Sarwar were ordered the same, by a directive signed by EC Deputy Secretary Md Atiar Rahman Saturday (Mar 16).
The second phase of upazila parishad polls will took place on Mar 18.
The EC earlier directed six MPs to leave the polling areas during the first phase of polls.
