Divers recover 2 bodies among 3 students
Fire Service and Civil Defence's divers on Sunday recovered the bodies of two students, out of three, who went missing in the Dhaleshwari River in Savar, on the outskirts of Dhaka on Saturday.
The body of Mehedi, 17, was recovered from Kunda Bridge area, six kilometers off the accident spot, around 12:30pm, confirmed Savar Fire Service and Civil Defence senior station master Liton Ahmed.
Earlier, the body of Akash, 18, was retrieved from Paglar Mor area around 11:00am.
On Saturday, Dhanmondi Ideal School and College's three students--Razan, Mehedi and Akash-- went missing in the river in Bank Town Pashchimpara area when they were taking a bath.
Soon after the missing, Fire Service and Civil Defence started rescue operation.
Kibria, a friend of the missing pupils, said they 12 peers went to the home of another friend Akash in Savar on Saturday morning. They all went to the river to take a bath.
At one stage of bathing, five out of 12 were washed away by strong current and the rests managed to swim shore. Later, locals rescued two students alive, Kibria added.
