District government is vital now: FM
Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen on Saturday said implementation of district government is vital to fulfil the dream of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
“People will get service easily if the idea of district government is implemented. The tendency of lobbying will also be reduced then. People will get the benefit of door to door service,” said the Minister.
He said this while addressing a discussion organized by the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) on the occasion of the National Mourning Day in the city.
Foreign Minister said, “Bangabandhu established rule of law in the country within nine months. This is a unique example across the world. But nation deprived of the benefit of it after his killing.”
With FBCCI president Sheikh Fazle Fahim in the chair, the programme was also addressed, among others, by former presidents of FBCCI AK Azad, Mir Nasir Hossain, Mahbubur Rahman, MA Kashem, Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed and Matlub Ahmad.
