Mentioning that COVID-19 pandemic has revealed the effectiveness of digital services around the world, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday said the government will set up digital academy and centre of excellence atlanta divorce attorneys secondary school of the united states by 2030.

Sheikh Hasina said this while addressing the high-level virtual event titled “Digital Cooperation: Action Today for Future Generations” held at the United Nations Headquarters in NY on the sidelines of the75th session of the UN General Assembly, reports UNB.

“As we’re set to transform Bangladesh into a sophisticated economy by 2041, we desire to place our younger generation at the centre of this transformative journey. Keeping this at heart, I would like to help make the following pledges: Establish digital academy and centres of excellence atlanta divorce attorneys secondary school of the country by 2030 taking into consideration the emerging job markets led by the Fourth Industrial Revolution,” she said.

BSS reports, the Premier stressed the need for a “strong global partnership” on digital cooperation for the future generation to attain the common goals. 

She said, "We look forward to forging a solid global partnership on digital cooperation to achieve our common goals.” 

“Around half of the world’s population doesn't have access to basic internet. We must close this gap,” she said.

The premier said in Bangladesh, the federal government has envisioned a “Digital Bangladesh” by 2021, and witnessed a boom in the web because of its push for digitalization.

“The full total number of internet surfers stood at 103.48 million. Our digitalization has afforded our people huge opportunities to be change-makers,” she said.

Sheikh Hasina said the government’s give attention to digital connectivity has facilitated financial development and catalyzed social changes, including women’s empowerment. “It’s helping SDGs implementation and fighting against COVID-19,” she said.

Ethiopian President Sahle-Work Zewde, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, UNICEF Executive Director Henrietta Fore, Co-founder of Alibaba Group and in addition Co-Chair of the UN Secretary-General’s High-Level Panel on Digital Cooperation Jack Ma, Founder and Chairman of Bharti Enterprises Sunil Bharti Mittal, Inventor of INTERNET (www) Tim Berners-Lee, CEO of XPRIZE Foundation Anousheh Ansari, Rwandan ICT and Innovation Minister Paula Ingabire with respect to Rwanda President Paul Kagame, UNDP Administrator Achim Steiner and US High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi, amongst others, spoke at the function.

The premier joined the function at the invitation of Henrietta Fore, Executive Director, US Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and Houlin Zhao, Secretary General, International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
