Democracy shackled by both Awami League and BNP: GM Quader
Jatiya Party chairman GM Quader has asked if the BNP held any free and fair election when it was in power.
"BNP is currently shouting free of charge, fair and impartial elections. Did it carry any free and fair election when it had been in power," he questioned.
"The BNP and Awami League secretary general and general secretary often argue on different issues. But, all of them possess destroyed the normal taste of democracy by placing shackles on democracy," he observed.
GM Quader was speaking at a discussion organised at Jatiya Party chairman's Banani office auditorium on Friday evening on the occasion of 35th founding anniversary of Jatiya Party.
He said, "Both Awami League and BNP enjoyed uncontrollable power in the last 30 years abusing this article 70 of the constitution. Parliament is meant to control the federal government, however the government controls parliament in Bangladesh. There is absolutely no way left to regulate power. Because of it, the leaders and personnel of Awami League and BNP have grown to be wealthy individuals indulging in unabated corruption."
Jatiya Party's senior co-chairman Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmud MP said, "It'll be difficult to maintain the achievements of the unprecedented development works that have taken place over the last 10 to 12 years unless there is democracy in its real sense in the united states. "At present, persons face insecurity with their lives. But, this question did not come up at all when Jatiya Party was in power. Jatiya Party secretary general Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu said, "The entire year 2020 will not only be remembered as 'Corona Year', but it will also be remembered as the 'Year of Rape of Women and Children.'
Ziauddin Bablu said the country's persons fought the War of Liberation for democracy, freedom of speech and freedom of press. People are eagerly looking forward to development and good governance. They want a change. They would like to get back to Ershad's Jatiya Party's rule. Jatiya Party will web form government within the next general elections to free persons from murder, abduction, corruption, misrule and injustice.
Jatiya Party's co-chairman ABM Ruhul Amin Howlader said Jatiya Party is currently more united than any other time of the past. "Some persons often gossip about the disunity in Jatiya Party, however the party possesses been moving forward very fast proving their remarks false."
