Deep down Irrfan Khan had a kid in him who loved to fly kites and play cricket
Filmmaker Mostofa Sarwar Farooki had directed Irrfan Khan in his film 'Doob' (No Bed of Roses), an Indo-Bangladesh project also starring Parno Mittra from Kolkata. On the late Bollywood actor's first death anniversary the Bangladeshi filmmaker remembers how his first meeting with the actor still haunts him. In an exclusive speak to ETimes, an emotional Farooki recalls the nice days of the past of 'Doob' shooting.

"I still remember when I visited Irrfan's house in Mumbai to go over the script and his character, we finished up chatting about everything apart from the film. From nature, childhood, mother, dreams to cricket, we spoke about everything apart from cinema.

Later, I realised maybe that was his method of learning people," the director shared while speaking to us over the phone. With time, Mostofa surely got to learn about Irrfan as a person. "I realised deep down Irrfan had a child in him who loved to fly kites and play cricket. On the sets, he'd be like any other person.

Not for once did he give us a sense that he was the facial skin of Indian cinema globally. He was so right down to earth." Sharing his thoughts on the fantastic actor's acting skills, Mostafa added, "His work will forever remain preserved in the history of Indian cinema and continue steadily to speak for his immense talent. Irrfan was a true fighter and kept his spirits high till the very end. Life is definitely unpredictable. Wherever you are, stay well!"
