"I Am Roshni" denied CBFC recognition despite no objectionable moments: Film makers
We hear, 'I Am Roshni', an independent film dealing with the hypersensitive topic of incest, manufactured in 2018, is still struggling to be cleared by CBFC. The manufacturers thus had no alternate but release a it digitally. Directed by Manoj Jayantilal Bhatia, the manufacturers promise, the indie film was denied a certificate by the CBFC, due to its motif - incest. What stunned the manufacturers was that the plank users rejected the film majorly as a result of its storyline and premise instead of any objectionable moments or content.
A source close to the project says the film was manufactured in 2017 and after seeking everything in the book to have a censor certificate, the manufacturers had no choice but release a it online. Maker Suresh Thomas, says that as the topic may shock some viewers, there are zero sleazy moments in the film. "I Am Roshni is certainly a sensitive film about a brother and a sister, who amid difficult conditions, find solace in one another." "I Am Roshni" stars Ankita Parihar and Yash Rajpara in the business lead roles and did several festival rounds.
