Sohan elected President, Shaheen General Secretary
The election of the Bangladesh Film Directors Association was held on Friday, as Sohanur Rahman Sohan and Shaheen Sumon were elected respectively as the President and the overall Secretary of the guild for the session 2021-2022. The election was held at BFDC from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Vote counting began at night and the results were announced after midnight.
The election also made method for the formation of a new committee. Sohan-Shaheen panel won the election, as the full total number of 361 persons voted for the three nominated panels. Sohanur received 129 votes in comparison to his opponent Kazi Hayat, who got 80 votes. Alternatively, Shaheen Sumon gained the post of General Secretary with 165 votes, while his nearest rival SA Haque Olik could secure 64 votes. Meanwhile, director Chatku Ahmed was elected as Vice President while Kabirul Islam Rana was chosen as Deputy Secretary General.
Among the nine other editorial posts, Mohammed Salahuddin won the positioning of Finance Secretary, Rakibul Alam Rakib was chosen as Organising Secretary, Noman Robin as International and IT Secretary, Shaheen Kabir Tutul as Cultural and Sporting activities Secretary and Anwar Siraj as Publicity, Publication and Office Secretary. Moreover, winning contestants of the 10 executive posts will be: Polli Malek, Zakir Hossain Raju, Abdur Rahim Babu, Nur Mohammad Moni, Masuma Tani, Mostafizur Rahman Babu, SelimAzam, Habibul Islam Habib, Saidur Rahman Saeed and Shahadat Hossain Liton.
