"I believe the narratives of our displays and films have to transformation. Aren't we sick and tired of seeing unrealistic heroes on the display screen? Incidentally, I read a quote having said that, 'You don't check out as much fantastic men in real life as you discover onscreen and you never see as much fantastic females onscreen as you observe in true to life.' And that was hence true.
The constant hetero normative narrative that is fed to us through preferred cinema, where the unimaginable glorious hero involves save everyone, can be problematic. The women are given the medial side dish. They are constantly playing the subversions or a subdivision of a narrative which, again, is incredibly problematic. Consequently, we as women, should do stuff for ourselves and I think the feminine gaze in helping transformation the narrative," asserts the actress. Sayani urges that it's time to change the way female personas are portrayed.
For Sayani, it isn't the space of the part that matters, however the gravitas that it brings to the table. She says, "I do independent movies where I take up the protagonist, and, as well, play relatively more compact parts in big movies, both with equivalent zest. However, I do desire to obtain big parts in big movies. As long as you have enough to accomplish and you're proficient at it, you need to make something out of it. When I say this, I don't imply you hog the limelight, but execute a commendable task and make your occurrence felt."
