CU VC’s partner Latiful dies of Covid-19
Key (retd) Latiful Alam Chowdhury, spouse of Chittagong University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Shirin Akhter, died of COVID-19 at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Chattogram early on Wednesday.
Latiful Alam, also a freedom fighter, breathed his last around 1:30 am at the ICU of a healthcare facility, in respect to his family.
His first namaz-e-janaza will be held at Chattogram Cantonment at 11 am as the second one in Garibullah Shah area in metropolis after Zohar prayers, reports UNB.
Latiful Alam, including his wife Prof Dr Shirin Akhter and 6 members of the family, were found infected with coronavirus on July 12.
Since then, he previously been undergoing treatment at the CMH.
Meanwhile, all the other infected members of the family, including VC Shirin Akhter, possess recovered from the disease fully.
