Clashes erupt after disputed Belarus election
Protesters and riot police experience clashed found in Belarus' capital Minsk and other locations, after a state TV exit poll said long-period leader Alexander Lukashenko was re-elected in Sunday's election.

In Minsk, the police used stun grenades to disperse crowds in the location centre. There have been reports of injuries.

The state TV exit poll showed that Mr Lukashenko won practically 80% of the vote.

Main opposition prospect Svetlana Tikhanovskaya said she didn't trust the statistics which gave her 7%.

"I believe my eye, and I find that the majority has been us," she said at a good news conference on Sunday evening.

The opposition had said it expected the vote to be rigged, saying it could keep an alternative solution count of the votes.

Ms Tikhanovskaya, 37, entered the election instead of her jailed partner and went on to lead large opposition rallies.

Mr Lukashenko, in electric power since 1994, has vowed that the problem in the nation will remain "in order".

The lead-up to Sunday's poll saw a crackdown on activists and journalists amid the country's biggest opposition demonstrations in years.

What's occurring in Belarus now?
In Minsk, clashes were reported close to the Minsk-Hero Metropolis monument in metropolis centre late on Sunday.

Witnesses and correspondents claim the riot police used rubber bullets and drinking water cannon to disperse demonstrators.

Several ambulances have been seen rushing to the scene.

Footage features emerged of protesters fighting riot police found in the administrative centre, and media reports state a number of people have already been arrested.

Discussing Mr Lukashenko, crowds upon the streets have been chanting "Go away!"

Very similar protests are being staged over night on Brest and Zhodino.

Net monitoring group NetBlocks earlier said connectivity had been "significantly disrupted" across Belarus, with the problem worsening throughout the day and creating an "information vacuum".
