Bus kills BUBT student in Dhaka
DHAKA: A university student was killed as a local bus rammed a rickshaw in Shah Ali area of Mirpur in Dhaka on Monday morning (July 2).
The victim was identified as Sayeed Md. Masud Rana, 25, son of one Syeed Md Jahangir, a resident of Dakshin Bishil area under Darussalam police station. He was the last year student of Accounting Department of Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT).
Moreover, the rickshaw puller was also injured in the crash and undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
Mirpur Shah Ali police station sub-inspector (SI) Sirajul Islam told Banglanews that the accident happed around 9:00am while Masud was traveling by a rickshaw and a Dishari Paribahan local bus hit them leaving both of them injured. Masud was rushed to Dhaka Orthopedic Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The killer bus was seized and the body was sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital for autopsy, he added.
