Youth stabbed to death in Dhaka
DHAKA: A youth was stabbed to death allegedly by members of a rival group following a dispute centering a cricket match at Nandipara of Khilgaon in Dhaka on Friday evening (June 29).

The victim was identified as Alamin, 18, son of Mosharraf Hossain of Barisal district. 

One of deceased’s friend Joynal Abedin Joy told Banglanews that some of their friends including Alamin went to a local fair in the afternoon where a rival group attacked Alamin with a sharp knife. He was critically injured and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where duty doctor pronounced him dead. 

Victim’s grandmother Amena Begum said Alamin used to live with her at Nandipara refugee camp as his parents live in their Barisal village home.

Khilgaon police station officer-in-charge (OC) Mashiur Rahman told Banglanews that the murder might have been committed following a feud over cricket match.
