Bus kills 3 pedestrians in Narayanganj
Three pedestrians were killed after a bus rammed them on Kanchpur Bridge in Sonargaon upazila of Narayanganj on Fri morning.
The deceased were identified as Abu Bakkar Siddique, 20, Ohedul, 32, and Sajib Sarker, 28.
Kanchpur highway law enforcement station Officer-in-Demand (OC) Moniruzzaman stated the incident occurred when several buses of Borak Paribahan and Homna Paribahan got involved an ill-competition to get passengers on the on Dhaka-Chattogram highway. As Borak Paribahan bus suddenly found a halt Kanchpur Bridge, Homna bus strike it from behind sandwiching three people in between who were seeking to cross the road.
On data, Kanchpur police went to the location and took the injured to an area hospital where on-duty medical doctor declared them dead on arrival, he said.
The bodies were delivered to Narayanganj Sadar General Hospital morgue. The buses had been seized but the drivers and helpers were able to fled the scene. Work underway to detain them, the OC added.
