BGB DG visits remote Khagrachari border
Director General of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Maj Gen Md. Shafeenul Islam visited the most remote ‘Uttor Lakkachara’ BOP and ‘Kantalong’ BOP of Khagrachhari sector as part of routine border visit on Monday afternoon. 

These two BOPs are so remote that it takes 4-5 days to reach by foot from battalion headquarter. Walking lanes for traveling to these BOPs are being made as per the directions of the Director General.

DG of BGB inspected different development works implemented at the BOPs and instructed the respective battalion commanders to take new initiatives for its development.

He informed the BGB members that BGB’s air wing has been created due to the sincere efforts of the current government and two helicopters will be bought very soon. It will be much easier to provide support at remote BOPs of the hill tract areas after the purchase of helicopters.

Region Commander of South-East Region, Chattogram Brigadier General Mohammad Adil Chowdhury, and other officials of BGB were present, said a press release.
