BGB seizes yaba pills worth Tk 1.84cr in Sylhet
Members of Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) seized a large shipment yaba pills while smuggling into the country via Bangladesh-India border in Sylhet early Sunday (November 11).
The 61,400 pieces of yaba pills are approximately worth Tk 1.84 crore.
BGB-19 battalion captain Lieutenant Colonel Sayeed Hossain informed media at Sylhet BGB Headquarters on Sunday (November 11).
On secret information, a team of BGB raided Manikpur Senapatir Chalk area at 2:30 am. Sensing presence of law enforcers, yaba smugglers fled spot, leaving behind a sack, Sayeed Hossain said.
Later, yaba pills were discovered from the sack. A case will be filed with Zakiganj Police Station, Sayeed Hossain added.
