About 50 percent of cases tested for COVID-19 in the capital’s Wari lockdown area were found positive.

Dhaka South City Company (DSCC) mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh revealed the info while talking to reporters at Nagar Bhaban on Tuesday after a gathering of the central operations committee on lockdown enforcement.

He said the fee of coronavirus infection within Wari area within the last three days has further proved the justification of the lockdown.

"We have observed that a lot more than 50 per cent of individuals, who were analyzed COVID-19, were contaminated with coronavirus. So, the lockdown must be enforced. Then we'd be to help make the area clear of coronavirus," the DSCC mayor explained.

Calling after the locals to obey the lockdown keeping tolerance and tolerance, he said: "We are going to enforce the lockdown even more strictly. We recognize that the locals are facing various issues. They have already been facing many complications in their trade, movements and livelihoods as a result of lockdown."

Taposh requested metropolis dwellers to implement it with persistence and forbearance as there is absolutely no option to following health guidelines and the guidance to deal with the coronavirus pandemic.

A 21-day Lockdown began in an integral part of Wari section of the capital on July 4 last and it'll continue till July 25.
