Taposh warns WASA of activities for dumping waste products on streets
Dhaka South City Company (DSCC) Mayor Fazle Noor Taposh on Sunday issued an email of warning saying that the DSCC authorities would take tougher actions against Dhaka Drinking water Source and Sewerage Authority (WASA) if it dumps wastage from sewerage lines on the streets.
"You can't leave garbage on the roads or in open places after cleaning sewerage lines….You will end up fined and legal action will be taken against you, if you conduct it ," Taposh said while inaugurating the year-long sewerage collection cleansing programme in city's Muktijoddha Sangsad area, said a press release.
Mentioning that the cleaning actions of sewerage lines might be carried out over summer and winter, he said, "All of the sewerage lines in every single ward will be cleaned twice per month."
"If the sewerage lines get trapped somewhere, overflows and if there is water-logging somewhere, inform the location corporation through respective councillors… And if you can’t solved it, let me know directly," he stated urging the persons to remain vigilant so you can get solutions from DSCC, added the discharge.
Haji Mohammad Selim, MP, DSCC Chief Executive Officer of City Company Shah Imdadul Haque, Chief Waste products Management Officer Atmosphere Commodore Badrul Amin, Chief Well being Officer Brigadier Basic Dr Md Sharif Ahmed, DSCC Secretary Akramuzzaman, Councilors of Wards 22 and 33, amongst others, were present.
