6 obtain life term for eliminating housewife in Kishoreganj
A Kishoreganj court on Monday sentenced six persons, including two women, alive term imprisonment for killing a newlywed housewife Ruba in Karimganj upazila of Kishoreganj in 2011.
Judge Md Abdul Rahim of Additional District and Periods Judge Court passed down the verdict this morning in occurrence of the accused.
The court also fined them TK 1,00,000 each.
The convicts are-- Luttu alias Rukn, 30, Rukn's cousin Sharif, 22, Sharif's father Sohrab, 45, his wife Jotsna, 40, Muslim, 55, and Muslim's wife Nur Nahar, 35.
Based on the case assertion, Shamim, son lately Abdul Kuddus, hailing coming from Bhatia Mughalpara village of Dehunda union of Karimganj upazila, tied the knot with a woman named Ruba, child of Adu Bakkar Siddique, from the same region.
On the night of June 3, 2011, the convicts strangle Ruba to death just simply 15 days following the marriage ceremony happened and threw her body in a pond next to the home. Later, police recovered the body from the pond in the night time.
On June 4, Ruba's brother Alamin filed a murder circumstance with Karimganj Police Station accusing seven persons, including her spouse Shamim.
On December 30, police submitted charge-sheet against 6 accused clearing Ruba's spouse Shamim from charges.
